Ice climbing in RJUKAN

Rjukan is considered the Mecca of ice climbing. Here you can find over 150 varieties of waterfall, most with easy accsess. The season of cold and stable weather is very long and from November to April. There is only one condition: you have to get there –  then ice climbing is guaranteed!
The diversity and quantity of waterfalls ensures challenges at all levels of climbing experience. Anyone who loves winter and ice climbing is welcome.
Just to add to Rjukan’s reputation as the best place for ice climbing enthusiasts, we have to mention that Europe’s first artificial ice climbing wall is located in this area.
In addition to these excellent climbing opportunities Rjunkan is a charming small town located at the bottom of the valley, surrounded by beautiful mountains and wild nature.
It was also the site for the legendary heavy water sabotage mission during WWII. On the rest day we recommend visiting Rjukan’s museum dedicated to this historical moment.
We have an opportunity to arrange programs for both beginners and experienced climbers including climbing classical routes with a mountain guide.
The length of each day varies between 5-10hours.
We also provide ice climbing courses for absolute beginners – the first step in ice climbing.
