ELBRUS- EXPEDITION WITH MOUNTAIN GUIDE
Elbrus (5642m) is a majestic volcano situated in the Caucasus mountain range in Russia. It is also one of The Seven Summits – the highest mountains of each of the seven continents, regarded as one of the greatest mountaineering challenges. Elbrus is considered to be the highest peak of Europe. It is famous not only because of it’s height, but also because of it’s unique shape and setting. It is a truly magnificent mountain surrounded by alpine-like scenery, endless snowy peaks and green fields with a blue haze in the distance. Climbing Elbrus is once-in-a-lifetime adventure available to anyone with sufficient physical condition and strong will to reach the summit. You will start your Elbrus expedition with acclimatization trekking. You gradually gain height on the neighboring peak (Cheget) and then you will continue on the slopes of Elbrus. Once acclimatized, we will start our summit attack. Expedition program: Day1: Arrival at Mineralnye Vody airport. Transfer to the hotel. Day2: Acclimatization trekking, peak Cheget 3200m, the denivelation – 300m, with a panoramic view of Elbrus. Accommodation at the hotel. Day3: Drive to Azau station. Cable-ways up to 3450m. Altitude acclimatization while trekking up to 3800m, further trekking up to 4200m (refuge for 11). Accommodation at the high camp 3800m. Day4: Acclimatization trekking to Pastukhova Rocks, 4800m. Accommodation at the high camp 3800m. Day 5: Rest day at the hotel. Day 6: Cable-ways up to 3450m. Trekking to high camp 3800m. Day 7: Attempt on Elbrus Day 8: Second attempt day on Elbrus if needed. Spare day. Day 9: Third attempt day on Elbrus if needed. Spare day. Day 10: Descend. Drive back to the hotel. Drive to Mineralnye Vody airport. Program can change according to local conditions and weather. In case of summit success on Day 7 we will organize alternative activity on Day 8 and Day 9. Extended program (longer acclimatization process) can be arranged on request. We provide mountain guiding, full board accommodation, permits and transportation.
