In order to develop solid ski touring experience our program includes: ski touring techniques, avalanche risk management, pre-planning methods, navigation and avalanche rescue. We’ll provide you with all necessary information about devices, equipment and clothes you need while ski touring. We will present you lectures followed by slideshows and we will exercise in the mountains. Our program contains several ski tours when you will be able to practice your knowledge.

Our program contains lectures followed by slideshow and presentations, outdoor practical exercises and single ski tour focused on avalanche subject. Our goal is to teach you how to maximize your safety on daily ski tour by giving you tools to understand avalanche phenomena. We will educate you how and why it occurs, types and patterns of avalanches danger and avalanche hazard analysis to predict possible risk. We will teach you also basic avalanche rescue techniques.

Program include: pre-planning trip with avalanche strategies, local terrain and conditions examining (snow profiles and tests), traveling techniques according to the terrain, basic rescue techniques.

Our course is dedicated to all of you who want to start winter activities in the mountains and want to do it safe. We also recommend it to all of you who have already tried it but need to refresh or organize your knowledge. By mountains winter activities we understand either walking or climbing in the mountains, glaciers hikes and long therm expeditions. Some of the mountain skiers and snowboarders might also find this course very useful. Our course is designed as a first step towards winter activities in the mountains.

We will teach you how to use ice axe and crampons on snow and ice, rope techniques, glacier rescue, navigation, avalanche risk management and organizing bivouac. Our course is a combination of lectures followed by slideshow and practical outdoor exercises and summit tours.

We will be situated in Hemsedal or West Jotunheimen (homeland of the giants), in the alpine scenery of Norwegian highest mountains and majestic peaks. Here we will practice winter mountaineering and enjoy amazing nature.

Generally easy access make this adventure available for anyone with good physical condition. Unexpected formations of ice surrounded by beautiful Norwegian nature make climbing in Rjukan unforgettable. Rjukan is known as Mecca for ice climbers and we can promise it is one of the best spots to try this fun activity. We can also provide ice climbing courses in Hemsedal, if this location is more suitable for you or if the actual ice condition is better there.

During the course our guides will teach you how to efficiently use your body mechanics. It plays significant role in ice climbing and helps to quickly improve your skills. We will go trough basic ice climbing procedures and climb as much as possible to make your course the most effective.

If you are complete beginner we would suggest you to join our
winter mountaineering course first. Ice climbing course for beginners and ice climbing clincs are also good combination with alpine climbing in the future. All of the programs concentrate on teaching process but at the same time are very adventurous and always located in fantastic climbing areas.

In order to develop solid foundation of alpine climbing experience we will provide you with all necessary information in theoretical part and essential practice in the mountains. Our program includes tutorial about how to be a leader in your climbing team and how to make right decisions as well before and during climbing and to make conclusions about it after. Our goal is to prepare you to be an independent climber so it will be possible for you to choose and climb your route even in completely unknown area based only on previous research and collected information.

You will be accommodated on small, beautiful and wild island called Uløya. We will take you for several adventurous ski tours: directly from lodge on the island, by boat and by car on the main land and other islands in the area. Combination of all types of transportation give us possibility to tailor our ski tours to actual snow and weather condition and provide the best trip according to the day.
We have usually 2 or 3 ski tour days by boat in our 1 week package.

Our guide service is partnered with two separate lodges for complete multiday ski packages.

Option 1 – Lyngen Outdoor Center:

We offer comfortably furnished apartments in a two-story building and
a separate house, both located 50m from the water line,  at the foot of
Blåtinden (1142m)
The apartments are comfortably equipped with everything you need for a home from home. The kitchen is a modern, clean, fully equipped space with all the necessary equipment to make your stay comfortable: plates, cutlery, pots, pans, drip-coffee maker, electric kettle, oven, and a dishwasher. The livingroom area is furnished with leather seating and has a traditional Norwegian fireplace. TV, DVD, and Wi-Fi (free of charge) are all here to keep you connected with the outside world should you wish.
In addition, there is a heated cellar that guests are welcome to use for drying equipment and wet clothes. There are hangers and laundry facilities, as well as several 400-litre freezers in anticipation of your successful fishing trips.

The lodge has six double rooms for single or double use with en suite bathrooms, a fully licensed bar and a living room with several seating areas and a large fireplace. The living room has stunning panoramic views. One of the rooms is designed for disabled guests. The lodge is a single-story building with large panoramic windows facing the fjord and mountains. The building has central heating systems in all floors.
